Autins warns that JLR suspension will have 'concerning' impact

(Sharecast News) - Autins Group said on Wednesday that it had made progress in reducing losses under its "survive and thrive" strategy, though trading had been hit by the suspension of production at its largest customer Jaguar Land Rover following a cyberattack.
The AIM-traded manufacturer of acoustic and thermal insulation solutions reported revenue of £7.7m for the first five months of its financial year ending 31 March 2026, down slightly from £8.0m in the same period a year earlier.

Its net loss before tax narrowed to £258,000 from £714,000.

Autins said the automotive sector continued to experience volatile trading conditions amid delays to new model launches, uncertainty over government legislation and shifting trade tariffs.

It added that JLR had halted all UK production on 1 September due to the cyber incident, which had had a "material effect" on its UK operations.

The company said it had taken steps to mitigate the disruption, including using its banked hours system for staff, delaying or cancelling raw material orders, and pausing discretionary spending.

It said it remained in dialogue with JLR and would provide further updates as the impact became clearer.

"Despite the headwinds faced by the automotive industry our 'survive and thrive' model has continued to deliver improving results, as seen in our material reduction in net loss for the period to 31 August," said chief executive Andy Bloomer.

"The JLR cyberattack is concerning not just for Autins, but the wider automotive supply chain the true impact of which will not be known for some time.

"Autins is doing everything possible to protect our business now and ensure we are ready to benefit as we come out the other side."

At 0921 BST, shares in Autins Group were down 20.8% at 7.92p.
