Blackbird appoints Adobe video veteran as strategic advisor

(Sharecast News) - Blackbird announced the appointment of Bill Roberts, a former senior product leader at Adobe, as a strategic adviser on Tuesday, to support the growth of its browser-based collaborative video editing platform, Elevate.io.
Roberts previously served as senior director of product management for Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, where Blackbird said he helped drive Adobe's transition to a subscription-based model and oversaw the expansion of its professional video business.
He later led Adobe's video strategy and managed the acquisition of Frame.io, gaining extensive experience in cloud-based collaboration and video review technologies.
The AIM-traded firm said Roberts' track record in product innovation, strategic growth and scaling creative technology businesses would be key as Elevate.io moved into its next phase of development.
Outside Adobe, he had advised several startups and worked with accelerator programmes such as TechStars.
"Bill is one of the most respected figures in the mediatech sector bringing deep expertise into creative collaboration and cloud-based workflows," said executive chair Ian McDonough.
"We are thrilled to welcome him as a strategic adviser for Elevate.io.
"His extensive experience at Adobe and other high-growth startups, including his role in the Frame.io acquisition, brings exceptional insight that will be invaluable as Elevate.io develops and scales commercially."
At 1545 GMT, shares in Blackbird were up 29.07% at 2.78p.
