WHC Overview
Whitehaven Coal is engaged in searching, mining and selling metallurgical and high-grade thermal coal. As of October 2008 it operated three open cut mines: Canyon, Tarrawonga, and Werris Creek. The company's other projects include the Narrabi North, Rocglen and Sunnyside projects. In addition, Whitehaven Coal comprises a number of privately owned companies developing and operating coal projects in the Gunnedah region of New South Wales.
