LONDON (ShareCast) - (Sharecast News) - Landore Resources announced the outcomes of its 2023 soil sampling initiative on Thursday, carried out adjacent to its flagship BAM Gold Project on the Junior Lake Property in Ontario, Canada.
The AIM-traded firm said that throughout the summer and autumn of 2023, it executed a substantial expansion and infill soil sampling campaign across four areas on the Junior Lake property.
It said the effort involved the collection of 834 soil samples across 6.6 square kilometres.
The programme's scope built on earlier soil sampling endeavours conducted between 2019 and 2022.
Key findings from the 2023 soil sampling initiative included the discovery of promising anomalies in the underexplored southern region of the Grassy Pond-Felix Lake area, indicative of a potential new gold zone deserving further exploration through drilling.
Additionally, the soil sampling efforts uncovered new trends in the Junior Lake East Grid and Lamaune Gold Prospect areas, pinpointing direct drill targets.
Additionally, the extensive soil sampling covered a stretch of 17.5 kilometres along the Junior Lake shear zone, spanning from the Placer Dome Gold prospect in the west to the east of the BAM Gold Deposit.
"Soil sampling programmes on our Junior Lake Property continue to identify new gold targets which have the potential to be advanced into additional resources," said interim chief executive officer Glenn Featherby.
"The board believes that the Junior Lake Property has excellent potential to host significant volumes of both gold and strategic metals for battery production."
At 1157 GMT, shares in Landore Resources were up 1.77% at 2.19p.
