LONDON (ShareCast) - (Sharecast News) - Embedded computer board company Concurrent Technologies announced the launch of a new plug-in card (PIC) on Friday.
The AIM-traded firm said the 'TR MAx/6sd-RCR' is based on the Intel Xeon D-1746TER chip, which was launched globally by Intel on Thursday.

It said the PIC would act as the high-performance server in sensor-based solutions used in electronic warfare and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance applications.

The higher-bandwidth communication interfaces on the PIC would enable the systems to collect and process "massive amounts" of data without compromising the system's size, weight and power (SWaP) metrics.

Concurrent said the new board was pre-loaded with security software which could be enhanced with the addition of Lockheed Martin's 'Hardened Security' platform.

The card was fully aligned to the US SOSA technical standard, allowing an upgrade path for current and future applications.

"As a Titanium IoT solutions partner with Intel, we are committed to bring innovative products to market coincident with their silicon launch," said chief executive officer Miles Adcock.

"This enables our customers to speed up their time to deployment with the creation of next generation sensor-based solutions for the defence markets."

At 1529 GMT, shares in Concurrent Technologies were up 2.57% at 77.44p.
