FTSE 250 movers: Oil and Gas, and construction stocks move higher

By Alexander Bueso

Date: Tuesday 24 Mar 2020

LONDON (ShareCast) - (Sharecast News) - Commodity and travel related stocks fared best as news of an imminent ramp-up in fiscal stimulus on both sides of the Atlantic enticed some investors to wade back into stocks.
Some analysts also spied an opportunity including those at SP Angel, who recommended Mining, Oil & Gas, Builders and Building Materials in particular.

"[There is an] opportunity for private investors to make substantial gains on buying key recovery stocks in this crisis," they said in a research note sent to clients.

Helping to boost shares in Energean specifically was news that several of its directors had picked up some shares on 19 and 20 March.

IWG meanwhile snapped back from the prior session's bout of selling.

Other commodity stocks that gained ground included Cairn Energy and KAZ Minerals, alongside large advances for 3i Infrastructure and Ibstock.
