LONDON (ShareCast) - Investment trust Finsbury Growth & Income Trust said it outperformed its benchmark in the first half of its financial year.
The FTSE 250 group said its share price total return of 17.4% and net asset value total return of 17.3% in the six months to end of March outperformed the FTSE All-Share Index's total return of 5.3%.

"The FTSE All Share Index is up approximately 4.7% so far this calendar year," said group chairman Anthony Townsend.

"The board continues to believe that our portfolio manager's strategy of investing for the long-term in durable cash generative franchises capable of sustained dividend growth will continue to deliver superior investment returns to shareholders."

Finsbury Growth shares were up 0.08% to 595.50p at 14:19 on Monday.
