LONDON (ShareCast) - (ShareCast News) - Science in Sport is the official sports nutrition nutrition supplier to British Cycling, the body for cycling in the UK, for the next four years including the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic games.
The Great Britain cycling team will work directly with the company and its nutrition experts to create nutrition plans be tailored for each individual athlete, which will include the company's products such as isotonic GO Gels, REGO Rapid Recovery and WHEY20.
British Cycling's membership of 130,000 will also be included and gain exclusive offers and nutritional guidance from the company.
Sport in Science's chief executive, Stephen Moon, said: "Science and innovation underpins everything we do and we are proud to use this expertise to fuel the Great Britain cycling team in the lead up to Tokyo 2020. We are also excited to have the opportunity to work with the substantial British Cycling membership as they seek to achieve their personal goals, and improve their fitness and wellbeing."
British Cycling's chief operating officer, Jamie Obank, added: "Sport in Science are known as experts in their field, and to have them on board is excellent news for all involved with British Cycling. ... At British Cycling, we pride ourselves on giving our riders the best possible chance to fulfil their potential and ensure that the success we have enjoyed in recent years continues. We are confident that the partnership with SiS will do just that."
Shares in Science in Sport were up 4.46% to 82p at 0851 GMT.
