LONDON (ShareCast) - TNT Express has agreed to take United Parcel Service’s (UPS) increased 5.2bn euro offer.
The American delivery company upped its takeover price to 9.50 euros, from the previous 9 that were initially offered last month.
TNT’s largest shareholder PostNL has also said that it will tender its 29.8% stake.
In a joint statement, the two companies indicated that the deal “will create a global leader in the logistics industry with more than €45bn in annual revenues and an enhanced, integrated global network.”
TNT Express and PostNL were trading up 1.7% and 2.2%, respectively, in morning trade. UPS will begin the US session at $78.41.
