LONDON (ShareCast) - (ShareCast News) - Mitie Group chief executive Phil Bentley has returned to work full time after recovering from a ruptured appendix last month.
Bentley, who started in the role last December and has had a challenging year as the outsourcing group reported a £183m loss before tax, mostly to its exit from the domiciliary healthcare market, was struck down at the start of September.
Peter Dickinson, the group's general counsel and company secretary, stepped into the role as acting CEO for the period of Bentley's absence.
His appendix burst just over a week after the City watchdog launched a probe into the timing and preparation of Mitie's profit warning last September, which was made by his predecessor Ruby McGregor-Smith.
The Financial Conduct Authority is investigating the timeliness of the profit warning announced by the company on 19 September 2016, while the Financial Reporting Council is thought to be examining the role of the company's auditor.
McGregor-Smith stepped down in December after ten years at the helm, with Bentley announcing a third profits warnings in five months in January.
