LONDON (ShareCast) - (Sharecast News) - Video editing platform provider Blackbird announced on Wednesday that its product was being used by Liverpool Football Club for remote video production.
The AIM-traded firm said Liverpool FC had chosen Blackbird for all remote video editing and publishing, with its production team now able to access the editing toolset through a browser, even on low bandwidth.

It explained that Liverpool FC had a "very well regarded" marketing and media production team which had won multiple awards, thus making it "critical" during the current Covid-19 related period of uncertainty that its function could continue at a high standard.

The club would use Blackbird to re-purpose its archive of file-based content for publishing to the club's website and digital channels, including Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Instagram, which had more than 80 million followers combined.

Using Blackbird, the club's production team would be able to rapidly clip, edit and publish short form content as well as produce longer form content, interviews and other material for distribution across its array of digital channels.

Blackbird would be deployed via the Amazon Web Services public cloud.

"As a lifelong Liverpool fan I am genuinely delighted to work with the club and enable remote video production," said chief executive officer Ian McDonough.

"The Liverpool FC digital media team will be able to access their centrally stored file-based archives from any browser or laptop and continue to engage their global fanbase, whether they will be watching their heroes on TV, web or social media."

At 1628 BST, shares in Blackbird were up 11.59% at 13.67p.
