LONDON (ShareCast) - (Sharecast News) - Big Yellow chairman Nicholas Vetch lowered his stake in the FTSE 250-listed self-storage firm on Wednesday.
Vetch, who co-founded the Surrey-based firm back in 1998, and his wife disposed of 324,593 ordinary shares at an average price of 987.73p each, for a total value of £3.2m.

Meanwhile, Byways Investments, a company beneficially owned by Vetch's children, sold 166,236 ordinary shares for a total of £1.6m.

Big Yellow acquired freehold sites in Wembley, North London and Kingston North in South West London last month, bringing its total pipeline of proposed new stores, including the replacement of its Battersea store, to 12, which on completion would result in approximately 760,000 square feet of additional capacity, or 16% of its current maximum lettable area.

It said its pipeline, which had taken almost five years to build, should allow new stores to be opened on a "reasonably regular and sustainable" basis.

As of 1620 GMT, Big Yellow shares had slipped 2.07% to 969.50p.
