LONDON (ShareCast) - Hargreaves Services, which supplies solid fuels and bulk material logistics, has appointed Peter Gillatt as Managing Director of the production division.

He will step into the role on September 16th after resigning from the board as Non-Executive Director.

Gillatt has more than 35 years of experience in the minerals sector with senior roles at Lafarge UK, Tarmac (Scotland) and British Coal.

He also has a background in the waste and recycling sector, mainly as Chief Operating Officer of SITA UK.

"I would like to thank Peter for his considerable contribution to the board and we look forward to working closely with him in his new role focusing on the development of our surface mining business," said Chairman Tim Ross.

Shares fell 0.85% to 816p at 10:25 on Monday.
