LONDON (ShareCast) - (Sharecast News) - Kazera Global announced maiden JORC 2012 compliant mineral resource estimates over the Homestead and Purple Haze deposits at the Namibia Tantalite Investment Mine on Friday.
The AIM-traded investment company, through its stake in African Tantalum (Aftan), has an interest in the Namibia Tantalite Investment Mine (NTI) in Namibia.
It said the maiden combined total indicated and inferred tantalite and lithium mineral resource at the Homestead and Purple Haze deposits was 324,600 tonnes, with a further resource upside expected to be identified.
Strong grades of tantalite were shown across both deposits, the board explained, with an average grade of 323 parts per million tantalum pentoxide, including 911 ppm tantalum pentoxide in the indicated tantalum mineral resource at Purple Haze.
Higher-than-anticipated grades of lithium were seen across both deposits, with an average grade of 4,410 parts per million lithium oxide, including 10,800 parts per million lithium oxide in a portion of the Homestead Mine mineral resource.
Homestead resources were said to be in line with pre-drill estimates, showing both "strong" tantalite and lithium potential for economic production, with total indicated and inferred resources of 199,100 tonnes, an average tantalite grade of 237 parts per million tantalum pentoxide and an average lithium grade of 3,875 parts per million lithium oxide across the deposit.
Purple Haze resources were above pre-drill estimates, showing both "strong" tantalite and lithium potential for economic production.
There, total indicated and inferred resources were 125,500 tonnes, with an average tantalite grade of 459 parts per million tantalum pentoxide and an average lithium grade of 5,259 parts per million lithium oxide across the deposit
Further tantalum and lithium resources were expected to be added to the mineral resource estimate across Tantalite Valley, through exploration at the Homestead, Purple Haze, White City and Signaalberg deposits.
"Following the completion of the drilling campaign at Homestead and Purple Haze deposits by NTI under the supervision of MSA Group, the results now clearly demonstrate the potential at these two deposits," the Kazera board said in its statement.
"With an enhanced understanding of the mineralisation, further drilling is expected at both deposits to enhance the resources.
"A wider exploration programme is ongoing."
