LONDON (ShareCast) - (Sharecast News) - Shares in Bezant Resources jumped on Wednesday as the company moved one step closer to a mining licence at the Hope and Gorob copper-gold mining project in Namibia.
Bezant said it is now awaiting formal written confirmation after Ministry of Environment and Tourism's website showed it approved an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) for the project.
An ECC is a crucial step that activates the official issuing of the mining licence previously approved by the Ministry of Mines and Energy, Bezant said.
Bezant, which has interests in projects across southern Africa, the Philippines and Argentina, said customary project management and ownership conditions will now be followed it progresses towards the completion of financing and starting the mine construction at Hope and Gorob.
"The approval of the ECC is an important milestone in the development of the Hope and Gorob Project. We look forward to providing further updates as we move towards project development," said executive chair Colin Bird.
Shares were up 10.2% at 0.027p by 1111 GMT.
