LONDON (ShareCast) - (Sharecast News) - Proton Motor Power Systems, a designer and producer of zero-carbon fuel cells and fuel cell electric hybrid systems, announced a new follow-up order from DB Bahnbau Gruppe, a subsidiary of Deutsche Bahn, on Tuesday.
The AIM-traded firm said the order was for a complete hydrogen fuel cell emergency power system under the brand name EnerRail H024, with a rated power output of 24 kW.
It said the order was the second fuel cell emergency power system requested by DB Bahnbau Gruppe, following a similar order delivered on 16 May.
The order was also the 25th system ordered since the cooperation agreement between Proton Motor and DB Bahnbau Gruppe was signed in 2015.
Proton said the newly-ordered system would be installed in the same railway control centre in the greater Berlin area as the previously-delivered system.
Both systems were capable of operating independently, providing a combined total rated power output of 48 kW.
"This follow-up order from DB Bahnbau Gruppe further proves the quality of Proton Motors' systems and its customer support and orientation," said chief executive officer Dr Faiz Nahab.
"The order comes shortly after receiving serial and operational approval, a successful site acceptance test and hand over to our long-standing customer, DB Bahnbau Gruppe.
"We are pleased that, with this new order, we are further strengthening our cooperation with DB Bahnbau Gruppe and we look forward to continuing to support Deutsche Bahn on its net-zero-transformation with our zero-emission fuel cell generator solutions."
At 1101 BST, shares in Proton Motor Power Systems were down 2.14% at 2.06p.
