LONDON (ShareCast) - (Sharecast News) - Data technology company Rosslyn Data Technologies has secured a data analytics contract worth more than $0.65m, it announced on Monday.
The AIM-traded firm said the contract covered a three-year period, with $0.25m to be billed in the first year, and $0.2m per annum in subsequent years.
It said the contract included an option to extend beyond the three-year term, as well as the capability of having additional services provided during the contract life.
Rosslyn described the unnamed client as a "high profile" global defence, aerospace and security company.
It said the technology landscape in which the client operated was "complex", covering diverse companies and geographies and a multitude of data repositories and systems.
That level of complexity meant that the data challenges were "extremely high", with the board saying Rosslyn's selection demonstrated the trust organisations had in its 'RAPid' platform.
Rosslyn aimed to complete the implementation of the project in less than eight weeks, including the provision of a complete data analytics enrichment, aggregation and dashboard service.
That quick implementation was said to demonstrate the "power" of Rosslyn's analytics platform, which the board said simplified how organisations made sense of and attained value from data, using machine learning techniques.
The client was reportedly seeking to identify and capitalise on an increasing and varying number of opportunities it had identified in the procurement space.
Rosslyn said the functionality of its RAPid platform was providing a strategically-important platform, on which the client's transformation program would be reliant, enabling the compilation of multiple source data and allowing it to focus on achieving its business objectives.
In parallel, it explained that RAPid would enable the client to improve the quality of its data, monitor risks, visualise issues and develop its own customised analytical views.
That compares to the standard "canned and fixed" traditional reporting and analytical needs that many of Rosslyn's competitors reportedly delivered.
"I am delighted that Rosslyn, through our partner program, has won another high profile client in a competitive and demanding process," said chief executive officer Roger Bullen.
"Our focus on the complex data analytics market continues to deliver a number of opportunities and this extremely important win demonstrates the continued demand for our data services in this growing sector."
Bullen said that being selected by the company showed that Rosslyn's RAPid Analytics Platform was the "technology of choice" for companies serious about leveraging the value of their data in order to improve business performance.
"This win also underpins the progress we are making in increasing our average annual contract value, which is continuing to grow."
