LONDON (ShareCast) - (Sharecast News) - Esports company Gfinity said on Monday that it had struck a new partnership with interactive video game map website MapGenie.
Under the partnership, Gfinity will embed MapGenie's interactive video game maps into relevant articles across its network, allowing users to track their gameplay progress and access wider information and features.
The group said the deal would provide it with valuable gaming tools that will expand its existing tutorial offering around some of the industry's biggest game and drive the advertiser appeal of its websites by increasing dwell time and return user rate.
Gfinity's move forms part of its wider strategy to accelerate growth across the group, which receives up to 14.0m monthly users and remains on track to deliver target revenues of approximately £2.0m in the current financial year.
Elsewhere, Gfinity said it had inked a new commercial agreement with fan engagement platform Iqoniq to become its official gaming partner for the next three years.
Gfinity said it would receive a monthly "provision of service fee" from Iqoniq, with its initial focus being on delivering an exciting new fan-focused tournament on the popular football simulation title, eFootball PES 2021.
As of 1005 GMT, Gfinity shares were up 17.50% at 4.70p.
