LONDON (ShareCast) - (ShareCast News) - Managed IT services and cloud hosting provider SysGroup has signed a three-year managed hosting services contract with one of the UK's largest high street discount retailers T.J. Morris - which trades as Home Bargains - it announced on Monday.
The AIM-traded company said the contract value was more than £0.95m over the term of the contract, and would commence in March.
That contract reflected the board's strategy of focusing on managed services which provide the company with higher quality earnings through long term relationships.
The contract came after a "competitive and in-depth" process to demonstrate to Home Bargains SysGroup's capabilities in secure, managed infrastructure hosting and support.
At a time when the adoption of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) was just around the corner, SysGroup said many UK enterprises were keen to ensure that their data was not only hosted in safe hands, but their environments were also protected from the vulnerabilities of the public internet.
"This is a significant win for SysGroup both in terms of the size of contract and external validation of the group's capabilities by another household name. We look forward to securing future business in the retail sector," said SysGroup chief operating officer Adam Binks.
Frank Christiansen, IT director at T.J. Morris, added that his company had selected SysGroup as its new managed services provider due to its "strength, understanding and ability" to implement security measures.
"[Those measures] conform to the requirements of GDPR, as well as its extensive, flexible and consultative-led approach to IT solutions," Christiansen explained.
