LONDON (ShareCast) - (Sharecast News) - Africa-focussed metal processor Jubilee Metals announced the appointment of Manuel Lino Silva de Sousa Oliveira, or 'Ollie', as a new independent non-executive director with immediate effect.
The AIM-traded firm's board said it also unanimously voted to appoint Oliveira as its independent non-executive chairman from 1 June.
It said his appointment followed the previously-announced decision by founder Colin Bird to retire as non-executive chairman.
Bird would step down as chairman to pursue "various initiatives" outside of the company from 1 June, when he would step into an advisory role, assisting with special projects as advised by the board, with no continued executive duties.
"I welcome Ollie to the board of Jubilee and look forward with great confidence to working closely with him as we continue to build on our recent period of significant growth and sustained financial performance," said chief executive officer Leon Coetzer.
"Ollie's experience will be of significant value to our company given his vast experience, knowledge of the sector and deep understanding of financial markets, as the roll-out of our global metals processing strategy continues this year and beyond."
At 1129 BST, shares in Jubilee Metals Group were down 1.64% at 14.95p.
