LONDON (ShareCast) - (Sharecast News) - Media and entertainment company Time Out Group announced on Friday that Time Out Market New York was opening to the public later in the day, bringing "the best of the city under one roof", based on the editorial curation Time Out said it was known for.
The AIM-traded firm said the venue, spanning 21,000 square feet across two floors of the historic Empire Stores at 55 Water Street in Dumbo, Brooklyn, it would offer 21 eateries showcasing the city's food, three bars and a performance stage.
From its rooftop overlooking the East River, visitors would be able to enjoy panoramic views of the Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan's skyline, the company explained.
"The first Time Out Market opened in 2014 in Lisbon as the world's first food and cultural market," said Time Out Group's board in its statement.
"Last year, Time Out Market Lisbon saw a record 3.9 million visitors, making it Portugal's most popular attraction.
"The second Time Out Market opened successfully in Miami on 9 May 2019, offering across 18,000 square feet 18 eateries led by the city's who's who of culinary talent, a demonstration kitchen, three bars and space to showcase local culture."
Time Out Group said that, as it was in the process of rolling out the successful format globally, new markets would also open throughout 2019 in Boston, Chicago and Montréal, followed by Dubai in 2020, London Waterloo in 2021 and Prague in 2022.
At the end of 2019 there would be six Time Out Markets in operation, with a total of 185,000 square feet, almost 4,000 seats and food from 120 of the world's "best" chefs, the firm added.
