LONDON (ShareCast) - (Sharecast News) - Diversified company The Barkby Group announced on Thursday that its hospitality division has entered into a new six-year leasehold agreement for The Harcourt Arms, in the village of Stanton Harcourt in Oxfordshire.
The AIM-traded firm described the Harcourt Arms as a 17th century village pub, which holds two AA rosettes and five AA gold stars.
It said that, following a four-year project, the pub now had nine "high-quality" letting rooms and one master suite.
The pub and dining rooms offered both formal and informal hospitality, totalling 125 covers, and also included The Harcourt Stores, a delicatessen and local shop.
Barkby said the addition of The Harcourt Arms was in line with its strategy to expand its portfolio of quality pubs with accommodation to take advantage of the trend away from branded pubs and large hotels, and the demand for quality food and local produce.
It said its pub portfolio now consisted of seven premises, with a total of 67 rooms.
"We are delighted to add The Harcourt Arms to our growing portfolio," said executive chairman Charles Dickson.
"The pub offers visitors the ultimate village pub experience with excellent food and service.
"It perfectly fits our proposition and we very much welcome them into The Barkby Group."
