LONDON (ShareCast) - (Sharecast News) - Iconic footwear manufacturer Dr Martens has appointed Ije Nwokorie to the newly created role of chief brand officer.
Dr Martens said on Thursday that Nwokorie will be "a key member" of its global leadership team, reporting to chief executive officer Kenny Wilson and overseeing its global marketing, product, and strategy functions.

Nwokorie joins Dr Martens from Apple, where has been a senior director of its retail function since 2018. Prior to this, he spent 11 years at global brand consultancy Wolff Olins.

Kenny Wilson said" "Ije is a visionary brand storyteller and this, along with his infectious passion for Dr Martens, makes him the ideal person to lead the next era of our brand development.

"I am delighted that he will be joining my team in a permanent full-time position of chief brand officer, which will be a crucial role to enable us to become a £2.0bn revenue brand."

As of 0910 GMT, Dr Martens shares were down 0.17% at 115.0p.
