LONDON (ShareCast) - (Sharecast News) - Fire suppression and interdiction specialist Zenova Group announced that its Zenova FX range of six- and nine-litre extinguishers has been approved as marine equipment under the Merchant Shipping (Marine Equipment) Regulations (MER) by BSI.
The AIM-traded firm said the approval allows the extinguishers to be used on UK-flagged ships and vessels.
It said the new certification added to a series of recent endorsements for Zenova's extinguisher range, which had already received significant certification in both the UK and Europe for high-performance use on land and sea.
"This additional MER certification for UK flagged vessels comes on top of the MED certification for European flagged vessels announced in March of this year," said chief executive officer Thomas Melchior.
"This opens the entire marine fire extinguisher market across Europe for Zenova, which is already a major target area for the group given its higher margins and some particularly strong customer relationships in marine among our senior sales team."
At 1523 BST, shares in Zenova Group were up 1.63% at 1.63p.
