View on Past Performance

The difficulties mentioned in the last report have continued to impede the recovery in global equity markets. Investors attention remains focussed on the US and the prospect for and timing of the recovery.

Future Expectations

The outlook for investors remains unclear; however, in the next few months the outlook may become more favourable and global economies could begin to show signs of stabilising. Inflationary pressures are not expected to be a threat this year but it is the outlook for corporate earnings that will inevitably dictate the direction of markets.
