The Scheme is designed to achieve growth in capital and income by investing in any country and in any economic sector of the world through regulated collective investment schemes with a spread of underlying assets and investment policies.
The value of the Fund at 31st March 2005 was ?11.5million. The return since inception on 10th October 2002 to the end of march 2005 was 48.99% which outperformed the MSCI World by 22.23%. The return on the Eagle Fund was 9.22% over the half year compared to a benchmark performance of 6.22% over the same period. during this time the fund paid a dividend of 0.07p in October 2004 to its income unitholders.The fund is currently 80% composed of five globally invested managers and 20% of four UK-orientated managers, equally weighted for 20%. Eagle strongly performance of the global managers.
Due to the above uncertainty over US economic growth, the equity and credit markets remain vulnerable to stock specific shocks such as AIG and General Motors. It is also likely that the end of Alan Greenspan's tenure as Chairman of the Fed will add to this general increase in risk aversion over the next two quarters.We continue to recommend the market allocation of an approximate 80%, 20% split between the global and UK equity managers.
