The fund objective is to provide capital growth by investing in companies listed in the FTSE 100 index. As the market's largest firms, these companies can often have many favourable attributes including a well-known brand name, reliable profits growth and a well-established, well-diversified business with exposure to international markets. We use Schroders' independent and extensive research capabilities to narrow this universe down to around 30 companies. The key theme running through all of the holdings is that they are high quality firms whose strong long-term prospects do not yet seem to have been fully recognised or rewarded by investors. By investing in those that are undervalued despite their healthy balance sheets, strong brands and successful business models, we believe the fund can continue to generate attractive returns for investors.
