LONDON (ShareCast) - Bluefield Solar Income Fund has invested 9.35m pounds to buy a solar plant in Launceston in Cornwall.

The 6.87 megawatt peak (MWp) plant was built by German solar contractor Parabel and was grid connected at the end of March 2013.

The deal means the fund has now made three investments in large scale operational assets since it floated in July. It invested a total of £29m on two plants in Norfolk and Oxfordshire which are both in an advanced stage of construction and guaranteed by contractors to be grid connected within 2013.

Earlier this week it also revealed it had also agreed terms on a further four large scale sites.

“Combined with the three acquisitions already announced by the Fund, the new assets are expected to take the fund's total commitments to nearly £100m, with a total energy capacity of some 83 MWp, it said.

Bluefield said it was still on course to deliver a dividend of 4p in its first financial year and 7p in its second financial year.

Shares in Bluefield were flat at 103p at 11:47 on Friday.
