FTSE 250 movers: Entertainment One leads risers on stake sale

By Frank Prenesti

Date: Wednesday 16 Sep 2015

LONDON (ShareCast) - (ShareCast News) - The FTSE 250 was up slightly with the index of mid-cap, 80 points, or 0.48% higher at 17,042.
Leading the risers was Entertainment One, up 7% on news Marwyn Value Investors has sold its last remaining stake in the film and television distributor and said it will return part of the profits to its shareholders.

Hunting also further gains made on Tuesday when oil service sector shares rose.

National Express accelerated after the company said its Spanish business, ALSA, has been named preferred bidder for a contract to operate buses in Porto, Portugal, which is expected to generate revenues of around €500m.

Evraz was a riser after the bankruptcy protection practitioners for the miner's distressed unit in South Africa named International Resources Project as the successful bidder for the country's second-largest steel producer.

IRPL is offering 350m rand to settle creditors' claims against Evraz Highveld Steel and Vanadium and 20m rand as a payment to shareholders, bankruptcy protection officials said in a presentation on the company's website Wednesday.

Among the fallers, Galliford Try declined despite reporting a 20% rise in full-year profits and a 31% increase in revenue.
