Xilinx is one of the world’s leading makers of programmable logic solutions, which includes advanced integrated circuits, software design tools, predefined system functions delivered as intellectual property cores, design services, customer training, field engineering and technical support. The programmable semiconductors maker became a publicly traded company in 1990 and, in the fiscal year 2003, reported revenue of $1.16bn. It now employs 2,600 people globally and has 7,500 customers worldwide, primarily in the communications, storage, server, consumer and industrial markets.
