LONDON (ShareCast) - AIM-listed quantum dots manufacturer Nanoco Group has reported that its Non-Executive Chairman, Peter Rowley, has stepped down from the role of Chairman after serving for seven years to become a Non-Executive Director of the company.

Anthony Clinch, who became a Non-Executive Director of Nanoco in March 2010, has now taken over the role. The company reported that the changes were effective from April 26th 2013.

Michael Edelman, Chief Executive Officer of Nanoco, said: "I would like to thank Peter for his enormous contribution to the development of Nanoco during his seven years as Chairman. I am delighted that we will continue to benefit from his counsel as a Non-Executive Director."

Quantum dots are tiny particles, sometimes referred to as nanoparticles, of a semiconductor material, such as compounds of cadmium or zinc. Because of their small size, the quantum dots can display unique optical and electrical properties. Nanoco’s heavy-metal free quantum dots show bright emission and can be tuned from ultra-violet, through the visible spectrum, into the near infra-red.

Nanoco Group’s share price was down 0.31% to 161p at 08:32 on Monday.
