The best performing industries in the MSCI All Country World Index were Consumer Staples, Health Care and Financials. The worst performing industries were Materials, Industrials and Energy.
While the credit markets continue to be under enormous strain central banks and governments around the world, particularly in the US where the crisis began, are taking aggressive steps to improve credit markets and avert a prolonged economic downturn. We feel equity valuations are attractive, especially in the higher yielding part of the market where valuations already discount a challenging environment.With extremely negative investor sentiment, attractive valuations and governments around the world focused on ending the credit crisis we feel the outlook for high yielding global equities is attractive.
