(Sharecast News) - Rideshare firm Bolt's drivers have won their legal claim to be classified as workers, paving the way to both paid holidays and a minimum wage.
The landmark ruling determined that the relationship between Bolt and its drivers did not constitute self-employment, as claimed by the company, but was, in fact, an employment arrangement, granting all 100,000-plus drivers essential protections under employment law.
While further hearings were scheduled to determine the exact level of compensation drivers were entitled to, law firm Leigh Day claimed the 15,000 drivers it represents could be owed more than £200.0m.
