LONDON (ShareCast) - Oil and gas group President Energy has declared itself pleased with operational progress in Paraguay, but things have been moving more slowly than hoped in Argentina, though the company ascribed this to prudence rather than technical issues, where the results of the pressure tests at the Argentinian concession have given the company increased confidence of a successful outcome.

GoldStone, the exploration company focused on gold exploration in West and Central Africa, said drilling results at is Sangola project in Senegal confirm gold mineralisation two kilometres to the south-west, along the strike zone of the previously reported mineralisation in the central part of Thiabedji. The best gold intersections from the 1,468 samples include three metres of gold at 2.4 grams per ton (g/t), six metres @ 0.9 g/t and six metres at 0.6 g/t.

International uranium company Forte Energy is about to kick off the drilling programme on the A238 prospect in Mauritania. The programme entails drilling 54 holes over 8,200 metres. The objective of the drilling campaign
is to test the highly prospective areas along the strike zone in the Zednes shear zone to the north-west and the south-east of the A238 prospect.
