Portmeirion, the pottery maker, is to sell a collection of Royal Worcester china to commemorate the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton next April.

Its shares surged to a 13-year high yesterday as it said full-year profits would be "significantly" ahead of expectations.

Portmeirion, which also sells Spode and Pimpernel china, saw sales rise 24 per cent in the half-year to 30 June.
