Financial Mail on Sunday: Midas
Every parent of a pre-school child will be familiar with Peppa Pig, the porcine star of her own animated children's television programme.
As well as her TV appearances, Peppa and her co-stars are linked to a mountain of merchandise from clothes to toys, which are worth about £200m a year in Britain.

The chemicals sector has been one of the best-performing this year - and shares in Yule Catto have risen almost 11% in the year to date. However, a recent dip in the share price has provided an opportunity to buy.
The specialist chemical company produces polymers used to make products such as glue textiles and surface coatings. It produces approximately 800,000 tonnes of polymer a year.
The price of most basic materials is rising - and this is true of the building blocks that Yule Catto needs to produce its polymers. However, rising prices can easily be passed on to customers, albeit with a time lag. This means that rising input costs only have a temporary squeeze on margins.
In its recent trading update, Yule said that earnings for the first quarter were 'well ahead' of the same period last year and demand was solid.
This, and the acquisition of PolymerLatex means that sales are expected to pass £1 billion in the current year for the first time. There are also expected to be substantial synergies following the purchase.
