Air Partner profits fly

British jet broker Air Partner said it was on track to meet full-year profit expectations as the political uprisings of the Arab Spring caused a rise in the demand for emergency flights.

The upheaval boosted the firm's commercial jet division, although the private jet division was weaker, with profit margins expected to 'remain under pressure' this year.

Air Partner said it was seeing early signs of improved demand from clients in the financial sector, while it has hired more jet brokers to target wealthy people in Eastern Europe, the UK and Monaco.

Shares in the firm rose 22.5p to 465p.
