LONDON (ShareCast) - (Sharecast News) - Seeing Machines said in an update on Wednesday that it has secured a major order from a US-based multinational company to supply its Guardian fatigue management technology across an extensive distribution truck fleet, marking its first major deal in North America.
The AIM-traded driver monitoring specialist said it would deliver and support the installation of 1,100 Guardian Generation 3 units by December.
It said the deployment formed part of the customer's initiative to reduce fatigue-related incidents and improve fleet safety, with discussions under way for a potential expansion to its heavy-truck fleet next year.
The order followed an extensive trial in which the customer tested Guardian against existing driver-safety systems and found Seeing Machines' technology to deliver superior performance.
"This marks our first major deal in North America and is a testament to our technology's proven impact on driver safety and fatigue reduction," said chief executive Paul McGlone.
"When a company is truly committed to achieving the highest safety standards, Guardian stands out as the clear choice."
At 1400 GMT, shares in Seeing Machines were down 0.25% at 3.95p.
