(Sharecast News) - Griffin Mining reported a series of high-grade gold intercepts from its ongoing drilling campaign at the Caijiaying Mine on Tuesday, with recent results confirming the down-plunge continuity of the Yuan Long gold domain and underscoring the potential for significant gold resources distinct from the mine's primary zinc-lead-silver-gold mineralisation.
The AIM-traded company said highlights from the 2024-2025 drilling programme included intercepts of 20.4 metres at 24.4 grams of gold per tonne, 25.7 metres at 8.90 grams per tonne, and 14 metres at 25.0 grams per tonne, all reported as true widths.
Other notable results included 31.7 metres at 3.8 grams of gold per tonne and 17.6 metres at 5.2 grams per tonne.
The board said the high-grade zones were structurally controlled and geologically distinct from the mine's existing massive replacement-style mineralisation, often exhibiting minimal zinc and lead content.
It said that more than 49,000 metres of drilling was completed across Caijiaying zones two and three during 2024, with an additional 13,460 metres drilled to date in 2025.
The focus had been on targeting both gold-dominant structures and existing polymetallic systems, although routine zinc-lead-silver-gold results were excluded from Tuesday's announcement to emphasise the significance of the high-grade gold findings.
Griffin noted that the results further demonstrated the potential for gold-rich zones to enhance the mine's overall value, especially in the context of historically high gold prices.
It said drilling was ongoing, with further updates expected as exploration continued.
"In the current environment of record world gold prices amidst global economic uncertainty, the continued discovery of substantial and significant gold mineralization at Caijiaying is tremendously exciting," said chairman Mladen Ninkov.
"We wait with unbridled anticipation of what further gold drilling will confirm and uncover."
At 1308 BST, shares in Griffin Mining were up 3.22% at 178.05p.
