Wednesday preview: UK CPI, US import prices in the spotlight

(Sharecast News) - Financial markets' focus in the middle of the week will be on the latest UK inflation data.
At 0700 BST the Office for National Statistics is expected to report that the annual rate of increase in consumer prices slipped from 2.2% for August to 1.9% in September.

Core CPI meanwhile was seen ticking lower by a tenth of a percentage point to 3.5%.

Stateside, at 1330 BST the Department of Labor will release import price figures for the month of September.

A speech by European Central Bank boss, Christine Lagarde, will follow at 1940 BST.
