(Sharecast News) - Oil and gas exploration firm Ascent Resources has tapped Gilles Thieffry to take over as non-executive chairman of the company.
Ascent stated Thieffry will step into the role on a yet-to-be-disclosed date with the full support of Ibrahim Diab, who was previously announced as the company's next chairman back in June.
"The company is confident that Mr Thieffry's breadth of experience and exceptional career will provide invaluable leadership and strategic insight, greatly benefiting the company's ongoing success," said Ascent.
The AIM-listed group also revealed that it has created a new joint venture special purpose vehicle with Delta Energy, founded by Diab and Eric Faillenet.
Ascent said the JV will focus on new business development opportunities in world-class proven hydrocarbon basins, with further announcements set to be made as necessary.
As of 1000 GMT, Ascent shares were up 0.40% at 1.51p.
