Friday preview: Global PMIs, BoJ in focus

(Sharecast News) - Investors' attention at the end of the week will be on a raft of purchasing managers' surveys due out in the euro area, US and UK.
In the case of the latter, S&P Global will release the preliminary results for the month of January at 0930 BST.

Consensus is that they will reveal little change in manufacturing alongside a slight cooling in services sector activity.

In Japan, rate-setters in Tokyo will meet to decide on interest rates.

Also due out in the US, at 1500 BST, is a report on monthly existing home sales and the University of Michigan's consumer confidence index for January.

On home shores, overnight consultancy GfK will publish its consumer confidence covering the first month of the year.
