Eco Buildings gets CE mark for modular housing product

(Sharecast News) - Eco Buildings Group announced on Monday that it has achieved CE marking approval for its modular housing products, allowing them to be marketed and sold across the European Union.
The AIM-traded company said the certification confirmed that its glass fibre reinforced gypsum (GFRG) materials met EU safety, health, and environmental protection standards.

Manufactured in Eco Buildings' purpose-built factory in Albania, the GFRG materials are produced using the company's proprietary vertical production technique, which delivers modular sections and walls for its housing units.

The board said the materials had been certified for load-bearing strength, fire resistance, water absorption, and acoustic insulation.

It said the CE marking approval would enable it to expand its commercial reach within the EU, where it had already generated significant demand.

"Obtaining the CE marking is an important milestone for Eco Buildings, opening up further parts of the European Community market, where there is already considerable interest and demand for our modular homes," said chief executive officer Sanjay Bowry.

"Eco Buildings has already achieved certification in Albania, Australia, the UAE and Latin America - specifically in Chile - and is now strategically positioned to leverage its manufacturing capabilities in the marketplace.

"The company continues to focus on expanding its presence in the modular construction sector, driving forward with a commitment to innovation and efficiency."

At 1042 GMT, shares in Eco Buildings Group were down 1.31% at 6.78p.
