Great Western reveals more encouraging Nevada fieldwork results

(Sharecast News) - Great Western Mining announced further encouraging results from its 2024 geological fieldwork on Friday, with notable developments across several gold, silver, and copper targets in the Walker Lane belt of Nevada.
The AIM-traded firm said that at the M2 Resource, soil sampling identified a surface anomaly extending 500 metres northeast of the company's existing inferred copper resource.

A grab sample from the area returned 1,470 grams of silver per tonne, marking a new peak for the prospect.

At the West Huntoon Porphyry Prospect, infill soil sampling has refined copper and gold targets within a previously expanded anomaly, which now covered around three square kilometres.

Meanwhile, at the West Huntoon Gold Prospect, a new grab sample confirmed elevated gold values of 2.01 grams per tonne, located 65 metres along strike from high-grade samples reported in late 2024.

Reconnaissance sampling at the Smith Mine meanwhile confirmed an anomalous copper zone in the southern part of the grid, with a peak copper value of 341 parts per million, alongside an isolated gold sample measuring 29 parts per billion.

At the Tun Group Prospect, soil and grab samples indicated anomalies near historic mine workings and along two parallel trends extending up to one kilometre westward.

A grab sample from a quartz vein, approximately 900 metres from the old workings, returned 1.17 grams of gold per tonne.

The company said it was continuing to advance its exploration programme across its Nevada assets, refining targets for potential future drilling.

"During the 2024 field season, our exploration team worked continuously on enhancing our knowledge of our large area of claims in the Nevada Walker Lane belt, through a combination of geophysical surveys, grab sampling, soil sampling and field mapping," said chairman Brian Hall.

"We reported lab results several times during 2024, and this release covers lab results recently received and not previously reported.

"Some 2024 results remain pending and will be announced when available."

Hall said the high rate of success achieved through the field work underlined the prospectivity of the firm's extensive claims, both for copper and precious metals.

"In 2025 we will also begin work on the tungsten prospects identified at the former Defender and Pine Crow mines where we have recently staked new claims to protect our interests."

At 1037 GMT, shares in Great Western Mining Corporation were down 2.58% at 0.02p.
