Tekmar appoints new chief operating officer

(Sharecast News) - Tekmar Group announced the appointment of Marc Bell as its chief operating officer on Monday, expanding his leadership role beyond his current position as managing director of Tekmar Energy.
The AIM-traded firm said Bell, a mechanical engineer with a master's in business management from the University of Durham, would bring almost a quarter-century of experience in manufacturing, service, and project engineering, including 15 years in the global energy sector.

Before joining Tekmar, Bell held senior positions such as global operations director at JDR Cables, head of offshore wind UKI at Siemens Gamesa, and global manufacturing manager at Technip Umbilicals.

In his new role, he would assume leadership of Pipeshield in addition to Tekmar Energy, focusing on operational efficiency, continuous improvement, and collaboration across the group.

The board said his oversight was expected to drive synergies between the two divisions, enhancing cross-selling opportunities and strategic alignment within Tekmar's customer base.

"We are delighted to appoint Marc Bell into the role of chief operating officer of Tekmar, at a pivotal point in the company's growth journey," said chief executive officer Richard Turner.

"Marc has a wealth of experience in the global energy sector, and in his current role as managing director of Tekmar Energy, he has been instrumental in achieving a number of key strategic milestones for the group and building it into the frontrunner for cable protection technology today."

Turner said the appointment marked "another step forward" in the execution of the firm's three-year plan to create a step change in profit performance and drive sustainable value creation at Tekmar.

"We look forward to working with Marc in his new role to continue to execute on our growth strategy and deliver value for our shareholders."

At 0836 GMT, shares in Tekmar Group were up 2.11% at 6.79p.
