(Sharecast News) - Animal genetics business Genus revealed on Thursday that it had appointed Andy Russell to the role of chief financial officer.
Russell will join Genus on 1 August, taking over from Alison Henriksen, who will retire from Genus on 31 July after more than five years in the job.
Russell joins Genus from global medical device manufacturer Smith & Nephew, where he spent nearly 12 years as CFO.
Chief executive Jorgen Kokke said: "I am delighted that we have been able to secure an executive of Andy's caliber. His blend of deep finance expertise and strong commercial acumen will help us take Genus through the next stage of its development as we continue to pursue our strategic priorities".
As of 0930 GMT, Genus shares were up 0.63% at 1,926.0p.
