Time Out opens first Asia market in Osaka

(Sharecast News) - Time Out Group announced the opening of its first food and cultural market in Asia on Friday, with the launch of Time Out Market Osaka, its 11th site globally and fifth operated under a management agreement.
The AIM-traded firm said the new market opened on Friday local time in partnership with Hankyu Hanshin Properties Corporation, and is located in Grand Green Osaka, a major mixed-use development in the city centre.

Covering 3,000 square metres, the site features 17 kitchens and two bars showcasing leading chefs from Osaka and the wider Kansai region.

The firm said the opening coincided with preparations for Expo 2025, expected to draw over 28 million visitors to the city between April and October.

Time Out said the Osaka launch strengthened its integrated media and markets model in the Asia-Pacific region, where the brand has operated in Tokyo since 2009 and now extended its media presence to Osaka.

The group has six owned and operated markets and five under management agreements, with six more sites signed and due to open between 2025 and 2027, including a new owned market in New York and additional managed sites in Budapest, Vancouver, Abu Dhabi, Prague and Riyadh.
