Alumasc opens newly-extended Essex manufacturing facility

(Sharecast News) - Alumasc Group announced on Friday that it has opened its newly-extended manufacturing and assembly facility in Halstead, Essex, consolidating production of its Gatic and Wade drainage brands at a single site.
The AIM-traded firm said the move followed a capital investment of over £3m in construction and new machinery aimed at enhancing manufacturing efficiency, improving product installation, and strengthening the environmental performance of Gatic's engineered drainage systems.

It said the upgraded facility was expected to support ongoing growth in both UK and international markets, with Gatic products already delivered to 114 countries.

Halstead would now serve as the central manufacturing hub for both Gatic and Wade.

Alumasc said Gatic specialises in access covers and surface water drainage solutions designed to manage stormwater and return it to the natural cycle, while Wade produces standard and custom drainage products such as roof outlets, gullies, and linear drains.

"This exciting move of Gatic covers manufacturing to Halstead represents a significant milestone in our journey towards greater innovation, growth, and enhanced product sustainability," said chief executive officer Paul Hooper.

"The new location not only provides state-of-the-art facilities and enhanced machinery but also enables us to optimise our operations and expand our capabilities."

At 1201 BST, shares in the Alumasc Group were down 1.6% at 325.5p.
