Week ahead: US CPI, UK employment, BoE speakers in focus

(Sharecast News) - -The market spotlight over the coming week will be on a raft of economic indicators due out on either side of the Pond in the wake of the latest rate decisions taken by the Federal Reserve and Bank of England.
In the US, investors' focus will be on the consumer price report for the month of April, on Tuesday.
Two days later meanwhile, investors will be treated to a host of economic activity indicators, including for US retail sales, mid-Atlantic manufacturing, and weekly jobless claims, followed by a reading on consumer confidence on Friday.
In the UK on the other hand, the focus will be on employment figures for March.
Growth in average earnings, including bonuses, is expected to have slowed from a quarterly annual pace of 5.6% to 5.2%.
The rate of unemployment is forecast to have ticked higher by a tenth of a percentage point to 4.5%.
Worth noting as well, multiple members of the Monetary Policy Committee are due to take to the podium on Monday.
Last, but certainly not least, investors will be reacting to the result of the trade talks between the US and China in Switzerland at the weekend.
