FCA launches AI sandbox using Nvidia tech

(Sharecast News) - The UK's financial regulator is to allow firms to experiment with AI alongside semiconductor giant Nvidia through the launch of a "Supercharged Sandbox".
The sandbox, which will involve using Nvidia accelerated computing and Nvidia's AI Enterprise software, will provide financial services firms with access to better data, technical expertise and regulatory support to experiment safely and speed up innovation, the Financial Conduct Authority said on Monday.
It will be available for those in the discovery and experiment phase, along with those further along in development and ready to launch.
The sandbox is part of the FCA's new strategy to support economic growth by promoting innovation.
'This collaboration will help those that want to test AI ideas but who lack the capabilities to do so," said Jessica Rusu, the FCA's chief data, intelligence and information officer.
"We'll help firms harness AI to benefit our markets and consumers, while supporting economic growth."
